This can progress and lead to tooth loss and compromise your general health.

What can I do at home to stop Gums from bleeding?

A lot of people mention that they notice a lot more bleeding when brushing or flossing the teeth. A lot of times what you are seeing is more plaque is creating swelling around the gum tissue. You really have to do a good job of removing the plaque in between your teeth and especially the stuff that’s between your gums. The first thing that you have to do is, you have to do a really good job at home with your home care, brushing and flossing it is critical and doing it properly is important to eliminate the inflammation that causes the bleeding in your gums.

Having good brushing habits, good flossing habits is the first place you can start. Now you can also at home is Use Hydrogen Peroxide and rinse with it. What this does is, it increases the amount of oxygen in your mouth and helps reduce the overall swelling that you have so. Also using once a day a mouthwash will help to kill most of the bacteria and reduce the amount of it in your mouth.

If you continue having a lot of bleeding in your gums, you will need to see a dentist, delaying this it can lead you to tooth loss and cavities.

How do dentists treat gum disease?

They take a sample under your gum to see what organisms are there, to see the parasites or the bacteria that are contributing or causing the bleeding gums.
