Journey

To start your journey it is very simple, firstly book your free consultation.

Appointment 1: On your consultation, we will assess your situation, we will make an OPG scan (2D X-ray) and if you are suitable and would like to proceed with the treatment we will go through payment, Deposit and Finance options.

Appointment 2: Review and 3D scan. This appointment is to follow up on your consultation. You will go over the finer details of your treatment such as appointment schedules and discussing options such as sedation and sign your consent forms. At this appointment, one of our team will take clinical photographs/videos, take clinical measurements, take impressions and discuss any aesthetic requirements you may have in preparation for the long term temporary that will be placed on the day of your surgery.

Duration: 30 minutes

Appointment 3: Hygienist visit (if required) and review: At this appointment, our team will take clinical records and impressions, take clinical measurements, and discuss any aesthetic requirements you may have in preparation for the long term temporary that will be placed on the day of your surgery.

Duration: 30 minutes 

Smile In A Day

Surgery

On this day, you will have fitted your Smile In A Day. 

Appointment 4: Surgery appointment. Our GM Dental Nurse will prepare you and take you to the surgery room. The treatment takes 4 to 6 hours for one jaw and around 7 hours total for both jaws, but do not worry, we will make some breaks during the surgery. Local anaesthetic is used during this appointment. At this appointment we will be extracting your tooth/teeth and placing your implants. We will have an experienced lab technician onsite working with us to create your temporary fixed bridge which will be fitted at this appointment.

After the surgery, you will stay under observation until the GM Dental Clinician allows you to go home with your new smile fitted in one day.

Review & Final Fit

Appointment 5: Review appointment. This appointment is due 2 weeks after your surgery appointment. At this appointment, we will review your healing and remove any sutures that have not dissolved and go over your oral hygiene instructions. 

Duration: 15 minutes

Appointment 6: Hygienist visit. This appointment should be booked approximately 10 weeks after your surgery. At this appointment, you will have plaque/tartar build-up removed both above and below your gum line and on your temporary bridge by the hygienist.  (if required)

Duration: 30 minutes

Appointment 7: 1st Stage impressions. This appointment should be booked soon after or on the same day as Appointment 6 (10 weeks from surgery). At this appointment, we will remove your temporary bridge and take initial impressions to send to the lab to start the manufacture of your final implant-retained bridge. 

Duration: 45 minutes 

Appointment 8: Bite record. This appointment should be booked approximately 10 days after Appointment 7. At this appointment, we will use impression material to record your bite ( how your teeth come together). 

Duration: 30 minutes

Appointment 9: Component try in. This appointment should be booked approximately 10 days after Appointment 8. At this appointment, we will have received a temporary component from the lab (plastic bar) that we will need to try in your mouth.

Duration: 30 minutes

Appointment 10: Permanent component try in. This appointment should be booked approximately 2-3 weeks after Appointment 9. At this appointment, we will have received your permanent bar component from the lab that we will need to try in your mouth before the lab manufactures your permanent teeth around.

Duration: 30 minutes

Appointment 11: Final fit of implant-retained bridge. This appointment should be booked approximately 2 weeks after Appointment 10. At this appointment, we will have to remove your temporary bridge and fit your final teeth! We may take post-operative photos at this time. Duration: 40 minutes
